Faiz Latip is an engineer turned entrepreneur, dedicated to empower talent and business performance in Oil, Gas & Energy industry. He is the Founder & CEO of SEMARAK Solutions, an independent entity specialised in providing training, consultancy and technology solutions. The organisation is a PETRONAS licensed company and HRD Corp registered training provider which presently offering over 120 professional courses with global network of 30 subject matter experts. It has served over 60 corporate clients from 9 countries since 2020, supporting organizational and talent development In 2024, he was elected as an EXCO Member of The Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC), the largest industry association representing the interests of the Oil, Gas & Energy industry in Malaysia. He is also currently the focal point for Competency & Capability Development Working Group (CCWG). Prior to the appointment, he had served as the Chairperson of CCWG for 2 terms since 2021. Faiz acquired technical experience while working with Halliburton as a Completions Tools Trainee Engineer and with Baker Hughes as a Wireline Services Field Engineer in Malaysia and U.A.E. Graduated with Bachelor Degree of Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), he has also served as the President of Society of Petroleum Engineers UTM Student Chapter and led it to win the 2013 Global Outstanding Student Chapter Award. Faiz is an active speaker, moderator and host at local and international industry events. He is a HRD Corp accredited trainer, a registered Professional Technologist (Ts.) with Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) and a member of Energy Institute (EI) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
