The fuel and energy sector has been identified as a priority area for cooperation between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea

In Astana, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, took part in the third meeting of senior officials of the «Central Asia–Republic of Korea» Cooperation Forum. The meeting participants discussed preparations for the upcoming “Central Asia–Republic of Korea” Summit, including the draft final document. In his remarks, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reaffirmed his country’s commitment to further strengthening multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Forum, emphasizing the importance of developing a mutually beneficial partnership between the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea. It was noted that holding the «Central Asia–Republic of Korea» are of great importance for further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the states of the region and the Republic of Korea; they will contribute to establishing new direct contacts between business representatives, expanding opportunities for implementing joint projects, and identifying promising areas of cooperation in such sectors as industry, energy, transportation and logistics, digital technologies, agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest. On the same day, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Chun Eui-hae. During the conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the further development of the Turkmen-Korean partnership, which has traditionally been based on the principles of long-standing friendship, mutual trust, respect, and mutual understanding. In this context, the special significance of high-level visits and contacts—which have consistently held a priority place in the history of bilateral relations—was emphasized. The interlocutors also discussed current issues related to preparations for the «Central Asia–Republic of Korea» Summit.
