Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov reported on the performance results of the oil and gas sector for six months
At the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on Friday, at which the results of the work performed over the six months of the current year were summarized, a Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov reported on the results of the work carried out in January–June 2026 to increase oil and gas production and expand the routes of their supply to world markets. As was reported, during the designated period, the State concern «Türkmennebit» fulfilled the oil production plan at the level of 108.3 percent, and the concern's oil refineries fulfilled the oil refining plan at 104.1 percent. The fulfillment of the plan for the production of gasoline was ensured at the level of 116 percent, diesel fuel – 111.4 percent, polypropylene – 100 percent, lubricating oils – 119.4 percent, liquefied gas – 118.5 percent, and for the production of natural and associated gas – 107.6 percent. Addressing the leaders of the complex, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the priority plans are the development of the oil and gas sector and the diversification of natural gas exports to world markets. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the importance of successfully fulfilling the set tasks for the production of oil and natural gas, rendering them into commercial form, and continuing the effective development of the «Galkynyş» gas field. The head of state also emphasized that the production capacities of the complex's enterprises should be further consistently modernized and increased. At the same time, an instruction was given to carry out geological exploration work, increase the effectiveness of activities aimed at discovering new hydrocarbon fields, and produce environmentally friendly products.
