Oraza Bayram is celebrated in Turkmenistan.

Today, the holiday of Oraza (Eid al-Fitr) is celebrated in Turkmenistan. On this day, people gathered in mosques for the festive prayer and wished that all prayers offered to Almighty Allah during this blessed month would be accepted.

The Oraza holiday, which combines all the blessings of the spiritually purifying month of Ramadan, strengthens the unity and solidarity of the people and enhances the appreciation of national humanitarian values. Along with all Muslim nations, Turkmens celebrate Oraza Bayram with great joy, inspiration, and unity.

The President of Turkmenistan said on this occasion:

“The Oraza holiday, which has been perfected over the centuries and whose traditions have been passed down from generation to generation, solemnly proclaims the ideals of humanism and goodwill. The great significance of this holiday in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state is felt even more clearly; it continues to be enriched with new meaning and content. Oraza Bayram holds a special place in inspiring our people toward creative work and new achievements, especially in fostering among the youth a sense of pride in our great past and noble ideals.”

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in his book The Meaning of Life, emphasizes that the Turkmen people have always celebrated this holiday in their own way, giving it a unique charm. Oraza is celebrated by everyone—both believers and non-believers—and the people consider it their own holiday.

“Accordingly, its scale, celebration, and joy go beyond religious boundaries, and it can be said that it has become a truly national holiday for our people,” the book states.
