Advisor on Climate Issues, MFA of Turkmenistan
He graduated from the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute in 1984 with the diploma of geologist. Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. His career started in 1984 as a Senior Laboratory Assistant at the Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. Until 1996 studied as a Post Graduated Student, worked as a Junior Research Assistant and Senior Research Assistant at the same institute. Then he worked as the Head of the Department of the Ministry of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the Head of the UNDP national program for environmental protection in Turkmenistan. Later he held the position of acting head of the information and international relations department of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, then the Head of the same department. From 2001 to 2005 he was Deputy Minister of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, and from 2005 to 2009 he was Minister of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan. In October 2009 he was transferred to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. From 2010 to 2016 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently, he is an Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on environmental and water diplomacy. Mr. Akmuradov took an active part in the elaboration of the following programs: National Program for Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan (1999), Caspian Environmental Program (2003), Concept of the UN Special Program for the Aral Sea (2018); Aral Sea Basin Program-4 (2020); Concept of the New Caspian Environmental Program (2020); Aral National Program (2021).
