Hou Qijun has almost 30 years of work experience in China’s oil and gas industry. In October 2002, he became the Deputy General Director of Daqing Oilfield Company. In October 2004, Hou Qijun was appointed as General Director of PetroChina Jilin Oilfield Company. Since July 2007, he has been concurrently General Director of the Jilin Oil Company under the CNPC. Since September 2011, Hou Qijun served as Deputy General Director of Subsidiary Company «Natural Gas and Pipelines» under the PetroChina. From November 2011, he held the position of Deputy General Director of Subsidiary Company of Natural Gas Sales under the PetroChina. In March 2012, he was appointed as Director of the Beijing Oil and Gas Dispatch Center. Since November 2013, Hou Qijun served as Director of CNPC Planning Department and PetroChina Planning Department. From March 2017, Hou Qijun held the position of Deputy General Director of CNPC. In March 2019, Hou Qijun was appointed as Deputy General Director of CNPC and concurrently President of PetroChina. From July 2019, he served as the General Director of the China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation. In July 2021, Hou Qijun was appointed as General Director of CNPC.
