Dr. Khalid Ibnou Walid Kane is an Operations Team Leader for Economic Infrastructure at the Islamic Development Bank’s Regional Hub in Almaty, where he oversees infrastructure investments and policy dialogue across Central Asia, including Turkmenistan. He has over 13 years of experience in development finance, project structuring, and sovereign-backed investments, with a portfolio exceeding $1 billion across transport, energy, and trade facilitation sectors. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Luxembourg, an MSc from the University of Oxford, and a BEng in Engineering with Business Finance from University College London and the London School of Economics.
