Turkmenistan, Germany Discuss Expanding Partnership in Transport and Energy

Turkmenistan and Germany expressed interest in expanding cooperation in transport, energy, green transformation, education, and healthcare, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov said Wednesday in Berlin. The comments followed a joint meeting of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with foreign ministers from Central Asian countries.

Gurbanov represented Turkmenistan at the talks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

Officials highlighted the dynamic development of Turkmen-German relations and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation within the regional format and in international forums, including the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. On the same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov also met with Dominic Mutter, director of the Political Department at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
